Falling Fallen by Colonels-Corner Falling Fallen by Colonels-Corner
This is actually from a couple months ago, but i'll keep the Colonelpostmoreart train going. This is Fallen, designed by *nil, given to me by *Toucat I thought he'd look cool with white wings as an addon, meh! Kinda cliche, but so fun to paint!

Im really getting the itch to open large art commissions, but I feel like my old prices aren't really cutting it anymore, even though my art is still janky. Maybeee keep an eye out for a commissions journal and i'll test the waters there!

So soft and well-lit... And it's a cliche because it works, hon. Thank Allie so hard for this, he's awesome-looking.

Especially the head.
(Damn, I gotta ask how you achieve these backgrounds! XD)

TRUE. And yes, she's a great source of inspiration for me (:

It's just a textured background i mess with a bit (:

You know her well ^u^ And something about your wings ripping apart, it's a horrifyingly 'falling' feeling. (My freshman friends who've come to downtown Chicago from Cornfuck, IA, they're getting vertigo. Although that could be the withdrawal - they're all trying to quit smoking at once, because they've gone from $4 to $12 a pack.)

Well, fuck you for being so good <3 I love that background. I should start being more creative with mine...

And, incidentally, I started mulling over some "Anchor" situations in my head this morning. Would you grant your blessing to if I try an animatic of Anchor, Irving and Vince trying to dislodge a treasure chest off a cliff, set to a by-ear rendition of Hans Christian Lumbye's "Champagne Galop?" www.youtube.com/watch?v=jN1OoI… Anything is funny set to this music.

Aha yeah! It'd be harder to stick backgrounds like this in with all your awesome traditional work, but it's always fun to mess with.Grab a texture, plop it in. Done and done!

Ahaha, of course! SO true, I need to start listening to music for inspiration to animate, I can totally imagine some whacky stuff already!

You make me want to take up digital, but if I do that I'll never get good with casein...
And if you cut a frisket mask out, it's easy as hell to just splash something onto the background... but I've never tried it.
(Really cool effect - twist some spikes on the sides of a Q-tip, dip it in ink and roll it really fast between your fingers over the paper. Instant splatter lines. ^^)
And "Awesome Traditional Work" me envies horribly your skill with transparencies.

Just make sure it's public domain ^u^
(Another project of mine, I have a soviet character who whistles soviet russian tunes (Dark Eyes, Госудáрственный гимн, Трус не игра́ет в хокке́й, March of the Tankmen, Shiroka Strana Moya Rodnaya, all that). And I really, really want to closing image to be the characters dancing into a sunset-style southern barbeque - to the dancing thrust of Dschinghis Khan's disco hit "Moskau." No better 'russian' melody exists. And I have to do what "The Simpsons" does with its musical parodies... mess with the melody until it's unlitigatable. It feels so... dirty. Advice?)
