well looks like you've been giving yourself some! ` v ` *noticed the most recent post* ..that actually reminds me... where do you usually get the inspirations for all your characters? Like...humans /and/ canines? To they just pop in your head? ooooor...?
By standard, you mean Hipster. We're gonna kill hipster by making it mainstream.
Drawing humans is overrated, but I find the things that help SO MUCH: The Hipcage is statistically bigger than you think it is. And it's kind of a bowl. There is always something wrong with the eyes. Draw them kinda fuzzy or in profile if you can help it. And the jaw isn't connected to the skull. I never think of this with muzzles, but when it's a flat face it fucks me up all the time!
Yes! Theres always something wonky going on with the head. I technically know what its supposed to be like.. but it never turns out that way. And finding the happy medium between realistic and cartoony without looking like an anime character always makes me headdesk DX BUT, I guess its like any other style, and wont just appear out of thin air or my bashed in head.
Hipsters are cool in their own natural habitat ... so fun to troll.
I oughtta put that last line above my drawing desk... XD When I try to find the happy medium it ends up like Rob Liefeld. And there's no reason that cartoony styles can't be used for sweeping, dramatic epics. ("Buddha." One of the true masterpieces of visual storytelling. None of the characters look at all realistic.)
